About
Green’s Diary is a political blog with news and commentary on all major stories both in the UK and further afield. It aims to present the best of the news from the world of politics in an informative and thought provoking format. Green’s Diary is an invaluable tool in keeping up to date with politics and Conservative Party news.
This blog has two primary aims. First, to get people engaged with the political process whether that be simply follwoing the news or getting actively involved with politics. Secondly it aims to highlight the failings of Labour and the left and to promote the causes and politics of the Conservative Party and what one might refer to as small ‘c’ conservatism.
As a card carrying Conservative I am naturally sympathetic to the views of the Conservative Party, however I do not speak for them in any official capacity on this blog and as such views expressed on this blog are my own personal ones and should thus be treated as as such. About the editor:
I am a Conservative Party member from London, currently studying at the University of Glasgow.
As an active member of the Conservative Party, I am currently campaigning for the general election and the local elections in London. Membership of the Conservative Party is for three main reasons. “Firstly, I believe that individuals should be free from state intervention. Secondly, I have a passion for social justice and thirdly I believe in small government. I joined the Conservative Party because it is only the Conservatives who stand for these three main principles.”
My political hero is Winston Churchill. “I have long been an admirer of him both as a true gentleman and as a politician. A man with many talents from making speeches through to painting art, he was what one might term as a typically British man. When I look at him as a politician, I see a man who stood up for this country when others did not, a man who saw what was happening in Europe and a man who fought a long a hard war to ensure that we are a free and independent country now.”

Development Time line:
This website was originally started slightly accidentally when I stumled across podcasting in July 2006. Soon enough, the name ‘Tory Boy News’ was set and a website launched.
In January of 2008, Tory Boy News launched it’s first full website, then a fairly basic version compared to that which you see today!
March 2008 brought about a spring clean with a new graphical interface added to the website and the blog (in it’s current form) was launched. This has proved to be a big success, especially on election nights with lots of readers ‘tuning in’ to watch the live results service and take part in the live blog.
May 2008 was a milestone for Green’s Diary as we hit 30,000 visitors in a single month. This month also saw a marathon three day rolling coverage of the local and London elections culminating in the election of Boris Johnson as London Mayor.
September 2008: Tory Boy News became Green’s Diary after a makeover and a relaunch of the website with a ‘uniform’ appearance in all sections of the website.
December 2008: The podcast show is ended in order to focus on the blog alone. The main website pages are removed and incorporated into the blog.
January 2009: Green’s Diary is re-launched with a new look after a two month break
