Obama Allows Scientists to ‘Play God’

President Obama has today announced the lifting of the ban on stem cell research funded by the state. This is a dangerous measure as it will allow Scientists to ‘play God’. President Bush had imposed the ban on moral grounds and rightly so, there are some areas of science which are best left alone. We don’t know certain things because we are not meant to, not because we can’t but because we are not meant to know it.

He says there will be strict measures to ensure that research is carried out properly, however it is salami tactics and even though some of it may seem reasonable, the overall aim of cloning humans is completely and utterly disgraceful and so therefore a strict line has to be taken on this issue.

Today marks another good policy of President Bush being overturned, another good initiative that made America better being reversed. I said it before the election and just after the election and then after the inauguration that I seriously worry about Obama and the damage he will do to America. Today I have been proved right, although not for the last time I fear.

UPDATE: If you don’t believe me about Bush being not nearly as bad as some suggest, Karl Rove has produced a chart that shows Obama’s apporval rating is pretty much on level terms with Bush’s two months into their respective Presidencies. Of course, Bush’s ratings plumeted and maybe Obama will go up, but he’s just as bad as Bush so far if you want to look at it that way!
