On the ground

I have just returned from a weekend of campaigning in London for the upcoming Mayoral election. It was nice to meet many of the local campaigners who are putting in countless hours of work to see Conservative candidates returned on Thursday. It was also nice to talk with many residents on door steps who raised concerns about a number of things from crime to car charges.

The word on the street is that people are fed up with Livingstone and they want change. However, in order to get that change they need to vote, and vote for Boris. From our canvassing, if everyone does vote then Boris will win, but if people stay at home then we will end up with another fur years of Livingstone.

Elsewhere in the country, there are various local council elections taking place. The polls and the Media are all saying that labour will do badly. Well I have to say that yes, labour probably won’t do particularly well, but if they do better than some suggest they might do, then it wont look quite as bad. This is the whole spin game they are playing. Here we have a party who have simply run out of ideas and are dithering so much to the extent that they simply cannot make a proper decision which is crippling the country. In London, they are running so scared they are resorting to blatant lying on doorsteps. They have been telling people that Boris wil abolish the fredom pass which is a complete fabrication, in actual fact he wants to increase it to a 24 card rather than starting at 9am as is the status quo.

Whatever happens on thursday, be it a blue or red victory, what the campaign has shown is that firstly people are unhappy with the way things are going and as a result can’t be bothered to participate by voting. What we need is fresh thinking and bold policies which ignore the liberal do-gooders who seek to undermine this country, so that we as a nation can advance and make things better for the citizens of this country.

if you have a vote on thursday, use it wisely by voting for change by voting Conservative.
